Bunrin was a pupil of Toyohiko Okamoto who used the maruyama-shijō style of Japanese painting. This style adopted the western practice of depicting objects more realistically than did traditional Asian artists. This gallery shows sixteen of Bunrin’s flower and (or) bird paintings.
